What's New: Trojan Found In Leaked Copies of Windows 7 Release Candidate
Windows 7 RC started appearing on BitTorrent tracking sites on April 24, two weeks before its planned release, but several users have found some versions contain trojan software. According to several online sites, the malware contained in the SETUP.EXE file downloads fake security software to PCs and installs a rootkit to hide from legitimate antivirus products. Fake security software typically warns the user they have been infected to trick them into purchasing a "fix" that simply turns off the warning.
ITS recommends users only download software from known legitimate sources.
