What's New: Samsung Fined $300 Million for Price Fixing
Today the Justice Department announced that Samsung Electronics and its US subsidiary have pled guilty to price fixing and will pay a $300 million fine. The government alleged that several chipmakers agreed to fix the prices of memory chips sold to computer and other electronics manufacturers from 1999 through 2002. Earlier, Infineon Technologies and Hynix Semiconductor agreed to pay a total of $345 million in fines.
