What's New: Microsoft Bounty Nets Worm Author
Tuesday German teen Sven Jaschan confessed in court to creating 2004's "Sasser" worm that infected hundreds of thousands of computers worldwide. The teen was caught last May after Microsoft received a tip from an informant seeking the company's reward. At the time the teen admitted to creating Sasser and several variants of the Netsky virus.
At the time the teen was 17 and a minor, so he will likely not face the maximum sentence of five years' jail time, and in theory might simply receive a warning.
