What's New: Security Patch to Adobe Acrobat
Today Adobe released a security update to Acrobat Reader 7.x and Acrobat 7.x. If left unpatched, it is possible for a web site to use JavaScript and XML scripts to discover a user's local files.
The Windows version of the update patches Acrobat 7.0.1 to version 7.0.2. Updating from 7.0 to 7.0.1 is required. The Windows patch is available today; with an update for Mac OS coming "shortly." In the meantime Mac users should disable Acrobat JavaScript.
ITS recommends all users download the update, which can be downloaded once and run on each PC from across the network.
