What's New: Microsoft Rushes Out Patches

Microsoft released several patches one week early this month, after reports of over 400 web sites exploiting one security hole. Hacker toolkits already contain the code to set up the exploit.

The new exploit involves specially crafted animated cursor files (.ani) that can be used to compromise a computer. The exploit works with any web browser, so Microsoft is urging customers to install the patch via Microsoft Update.
