German authorities have charged 3,500 eDonkey network users with sharing music files illegally. They face fines of approximately $3,200, on average, and possible prosecution.

Internet watchdogs claim that peer-to-peer file sharing comprises 60% of all Internet traffic, and eDonkey currently has the highest usage of those networks.
