Does it matter which ISP I use?
An Internet Service Provider simply connects you to the Internet. Assuming one can obtain reliable service for a reasonable price, it does not matter much which ISP is used. However with the telecommunications industry in as much flux as it has been the past few years this can be harder than it sounds. Some ISPs have earned a reputation for good service, customer service and billing, while others have faltered. America On-Line (AOL) and MSN are a bit different from most ISPs because they use their own software to manage users' connections and online experience. This is nice for novice users but more experienced users may find the software more intrusive than helpful. For recommendations, see ITS StartCenter.
