Should I plug other electrical items into my surge protector/noise filter?
Most quality surge protectors filter out electrical noise. To maximize this benefit, other electrical items should not be plugged into your surge protector. This includes items such as calculators, lights, heaters and pencil sharpeners. These are all large sources of electrical noise. Since you are connecting them after the incoming filters of a surge protector/filter, you are connecting this noise directly into your PC. Not a good idea.
