What's New: Microsoft Office Via Your Browser

Microsoft showed a "sneak preview" of its Office Web series of applications. The offering includes lightweight versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. Surprisingly, Office Web will run in browsers besides Internet Explorer. Microsoft is working out pricing details, but is considering an ad-supported version via Office Live. Microsoft says Office Web is meant to be an extension to the locally installed Microsoft Office, allowing users to access and edit files from their desktop PCs.
