What's New: Comcast Ponders 250 GB/Month Limit
Two large cable Internet providers, Comcast and Time Warner, will begin testing ways to limit excessive bandwidth usage on their networks. Comcast, who services the Chicagoland area, announced it has changed its network traffic management and will begin testing methods to slow download speeds to its heaviest-usage customers during busy periods, in Pennsylvania and Virginia. Comcast is considering a 250 GB per month limit on download usage. That cap would still allow users to download around 69,000 songs or 775 hours of standard-definition video.
